The Royal Resorts Foundation promotes children’s education as one of its community causes and helps pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds with grants to enable them to study.
As a result of the Dollar a Stay campaign at the resorts and the generous donations of members, guests and employees, we are able to give scholarships to 51 children studying at the Colegio Mano Amiga in Ciudad de la Alegría in Cancun.
We thought you’d like to see some of the most recent graduates from the Mano Amiga School. This group of 27 happy, smiling five and six-year-olds had just finished school for the summer break when they recorded this video to say thank you for the support they receive from the Royal Resorts Foundation. Some of them completed pre-school, others their first, second, third or fourth year of primary school and they are all ready for the next stage of their education in the fall.
Seven of the children received diplomas for outstanding conduct, English, dance, Catholic studies, for effort and excellence in sports.
The class of 2016 want to say a resounding and heartfelt “gracias” for your support.
