Start the day with traditional Mexican pastries and breakfast dishes you may not have tried before. The poolside bars and grills have a different lunch special for each day of the week, ranging from tasty tacos and mezcal grilled chicken to wraps, sandwiches, fried fish and ceviches and be sure to try the chef’s specials for dinner. Here is what’s cooking in June at the Cancun resorts and The Royal Haciendas in the Riviera Maya.

Poolside lunch specials
Poolside lunch specials this month range from sopes topped with a savory guiso or stew or vegetables on Monday and Jamaican jerk chicken on Tuesday to paprika pork on Wednesday, steak tacos and mezcal chicken on Thursday and Friday. Snack on breaded shrimp or veggie burritos on Saturday and don’t miss our traditional paella on Sunday.

At La Veranda you can enjoy the a la carte dinner menu or the theme night buffets during the week.

Steak Diane flambéed tableside is the June special served on Tuesday and Thursday.
Captain’s Cove
Enjoy the a la carte menu and the theme nights during the week: Steak Night, Prime Rib night on Wednesday and Saturday and Lobster Night on Friday and don’t forget the popular Sunday Brunch. The Chef’s June specials are a 16 oz. prime rib-eye and BBQ baby back ribs served with coconut shrimp and French fries.
At The Royal Haciendas
Poolside lunch specials
Sol and Luna Grill will be serving tasty special snacks during the week in addition to the a la carte menu. On Monday order a club sandwich, Tuesday pastor-style pork tacos, Wednesday BLTs, Thursday buffalo chicken sandwich or fried fish, Friday pescadillas or mezcal chicken, on Saturday there are filled croissants, Sunday shrimp burgers and paella. Wednesday is also crispy chicken day at Luna Grill and seafood fans will want to try the seafood platter available daily at both poolside grills.
For something sweet, there are waffles, pancakes and crepes at Luna Grill on Tuesday and Friday from 12 to 3 p.m.
La Palapa del Sol
Top off breakfast with a fresh donut during the week or churros on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

For fine dining a la carte, book your table at Los Murales and Kinoko restaurants and be sure to try the chef’s specials: the Los Murales grill, tomahawk steak or sea bass in tomatillo sauce and the Kinoko offerings of lobster kung pao, Osaka-style sea bass, lamb chops, surf and turf and rib-eye.
