Mark Carney, Sales and Marketing Director of Royal Resorts, in his capacity as British Consul for the states of Quintana Roo and Yucatan will accompany the British Ambassador to Mexico Judith Macgregor CBE who will host a brunch at Captain’s Cove this Saturday to welcome Virgin Atlantic airlines to Cancun, Mexico. Among the guests at the event offered by Her Majesty’s Ambassador Macgregor to celebrate this important occasion for our destination will be Virgin Atlantic President Sir Richard Branson, the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Quintana Roo Lic. Juan Carlos González Hernández, and representatives of the tourism industry.
Virgin Atlantic launched Cancun flights from London Gatwick Airport this past June 12. This is their first route to Mexico and they are offering two direct flights per week from London’s Gatwick Airport on 451-seat 747-400 aircraft.
The number of holidaymakers from the United Kingdom has been growing steadily in recent years and is
likely to climb even more. Sir Richard Branson, President of Virgin Atlantic, comments on this exciting news: “Cancun is one of the top five long-haul leisure destinations for UK travellers, so we are delighted to be able to add this route to our network.”
