The Royal Resorts Foundation and Cancun charity Érase Una Vez un Hogar A.C. have signed a one-year agreement to support a team of athletes from Royal Resorts who will be competing in triathlons in the area for charity.
The Tri con Causa (Tri for a Cause) project promotes sport as a way to raise money to help desperately poor families in the small rural community of Leona Vicario, 40 minutes west of Cancun on the highway to Merida.
Three Royal Resorts employees are in the Balam Tri team: Irasema García (Corporate Engineering Department), Andrea Mendoza and Raúl Prado (Human Development Department) and their coach is Victor Beltrán.
In other Royal Resorts Foundation news, as of July 15, US$183,096 had been raised for our four key causes: children’s education, cancer screening and treatment, conservation of the Mayan Jungle and emergency relief for employees in times of serious illness.
