By the end of September, the number of female turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs dwindles, with only the occasional latecomer sighted. The tally of nests for the 2015 season at Royal Resorts stands at 522 nests and 60,699 eggs protected.
This doesn’t mean that the season is over for our tireless turtle guardians, indeed far from it! By September 25, 42,193 babies had been released and there were still thousands of eggs to hatch. If you are due to come down in October or early November, you may be lucky enough to see some of these amazing little creatures race across the sand towards the waves.
