Something Else to Celebrate
A special hello goes out to our Canadian friends today who are celebrating Canada Day this July 1 and a Happy Fourth of July Weekend greeting to all our friends from the United States. Whether you celebrate it with a BBQ this weekend or a full-blown party on Monday with fireworks and all the trimmings, we hope that you have a wonderful time!

For Royal Resorts members and guests who will be joining us tomorrow, there will be Independence Day Poolside Cookouts on Monday, July 4 at The Royal Sands, The Royal Caribbean and The Royal Cancun from 12 to 4 p.m. and at 6 p.m. in The Royal Haciendas for a BBQ Buffet. We look forward to seeing you there.

If it rains, the festivities will take place in La Veranda, Tradewinds, La Palapa at The Royal Cancun and La Palapa del Sol at The Royal Haciendas (which will be closed for normal dinner service).

Bumper Breakfasts
The Royal Resorts chefs have come up with a tasty new breakfast menu full of your International favorites, mouthwatering traditional Mexican recipes from all over the country and some low-calorie options for the diet conscious. Prices start from $85 pesos and you can sample the menu at La Palapa in The Royal Mayan and The Royal Cancun and Cayo Largo at The Royal Islander. For those of you who enjoy our Breakfast Buffets, they are still available in all the restaurants.

We hope that you try some of the hearty Mexican specialties on the new breakfast menu. Served with freshly made chili salsas in a molcajete or traditional mortar and pestle, they are delicious and you’ll soon appreciate why breakfast is such an important meal here in Mexico!

Representatives of the Royal Resorts Management team and Security department attended the event, which also featured the final statistics for the 2010 season. City Hall biologists, volunteers and security staff from 53 hotels in Cancún and Puerto Morelos moved the eggs from 4,346 turtle nests to 46 corrals and a total of 420,551 baby turtles were released.

Here’s some more great news for Cancún from the airline industry. Aeromexico is inaugurating new flights from Miami and New York to Cancun this July, South American carrier Lan will begin flights from Lima and Virgin Atlantic announced that it will be offering a twice-weekly service from London Gatwick to Cancun as of June 2012. On the charter front, Funjet is also expanding its flight network from the United States for the winter season with a new route from St. Louis, starting December 24 to August 1.

Local tourism officials are also optimistic about the possibility of direct flights from the Brazilian cities of Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro in the near future.
