Here’s the latest Royal Resorts 2020 turtle season news. The number of nests in the three corrals at The Royal Sands, The Royal Islander and Royal Uno in Cancun continues to rise and currently stands at 693 with 80,490 eggs (September 3). We hope that the turtles will continue to come ashore to lay their eggs during the next few weeks.
To date, this Royal Resorts 2020 turtle season, security guards have released 27,123 baby turtles and they are ever vigilant, keeping an eye on the nests for telltale signs of hatching and also on weather conditions to keep the precious eggs and babies safe.
A turtle conservation pioneer in Cancun since 1985, Royal Resorts has protected 9,706 nests and released 886,812 hatchlings since 1998 when official record keeping began.
