The next time you visit Merida why not take the new guided tour of the Cathedral on Saturday at 10 a.m.? You’ll learn about the construction and history of the Cathedral, which was erected between 1562 and 1597 and is the oldest in Mexico and the Americas. Explore areas of the 16th-century building previously off limits to visitors such as the choir, organ and the under croft. You’ll climb the stairs to the bell towers and finally emerge on the roof where the views out over the city are amazing.
