There are more exciting events later this year. They include the Xcaret Day of the Dead Festival (October 31 to November 2), the OHL Mayakoba PGA Golf Classic at the El Cameleón course (November 10-16) and the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival (November 27, 28, and 29).
The 2014 Jazz Festival line up was recently announced and features performances by TAKE 6, Jorge Vercilo, Pat Metheny, Hiram Gómez, Kenny Garrett, Virgil Donati, Chick Corea, Pato Machete and Aguamala. All concerts will take place at Playa Mamitas in Playa del Carmen on November 27, 28 and 29 and admission is free. If you are not due to come down to the Mexican Caribbean at the end of November the mellow sounds of jazz on the beach under a star-filled sky may be enough to tempt you.
