The colonial towns of Izamal and Maní in the neighboring state of Yucatan will soon benefit from a Tourism Board project to illuminate their 16th-century churches, convents, mansions and other historic treasures. The project includes video mapping technology and will offer yet another attraction for visitors.
The lighting in the impressive Loltun Caves on the Puuc Route in the south of the state will also be upgraded as part of the program.
