Originally from the state of Veracruz, Executive Guest Services Manager Jesus Argüelles Osorio has a degree in Tourism Administration and is currently studying an MBA. He joined Royal Resorts in 1997 and began his career at The Royal Cancun, initially as Duty Manager and in 2003 as Guest Services Manager.
Jesus then spent time in the Caribbean Division providing management support at Pelican Marina Resort in St. Maarten. On returning to Mexico, he embarked on an executive training course at the resorts.
In 2010 he was promoted to the post of Executive Guest Services Manager, with overall responsibility for coordinating Guest Services at the four resorts in Cancún. The Guest Services Managers, Duty Managers, Night Manager and the Telephone Switchboard Manager report to him and he says, “ With them I coordinate all our activities, analyze objectives and handle requests received from members and guests. “
“Every day is different, with its own particular challenges, opportunities and satisfactions,” Jesus says. “My first thoughts in the morning are how can I be of service, anticipate and prepare for situations and satisfy the needs of our members and guests.
“In Resort Operations we follow up on the comments and suggestions received through the In Search of Excellence survey, Trip Advisor and member feedback and we are always available to talk to guests during their stay.
“My philosophy is that we are all born to serve and that service is everywhere we look. It is up to us to make sure that the service we give our members, guests and colleagues is excellent and we should go one step further and make it outstanding. There is always room for improvement.”
