Two Mexican airlines have announced new routes linking Cancun with cities in the United States, both starting on December 18. Interjet has new flights from Cancun to Guadalajara and Miami and Volaris starts flying from Cancun to Las Vegas.
Delta will start flying to Cancun from New Orleans on March 7 and Southwest inaugurates a San Antonio-Cancun service on April 8, the latter airline also recently announced plans to begin flights from Houston to Cancun (pending government approval). As of May 7, Spirit will offer a Houston-Cancun flight on May 7 to meet increased demand for the Mexican Caribbean.
In the summer of 2015, Iberia will also be offering three direct flights from Madrid to Cancun and British tour operator Thomas Cook is adding a direct charter flight from London.
