It’s the Cancun Marathon on Saturday, December 10! Now in its 32nd year, this night race attracts a field of more than 3,000 international marathon racers and local runners.
The race starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday and the route followed by the runners covers Malecón Tajamar (lagoonside, opposite the Malecon Las Americas Shopping Center), along Bonampak Ave, Calle Antonio Enriquez Savignac (El Table), Kukulcan Boulevard as far as El Mirador (Playa Delfines) at Km 18 and back again.
The staging of this race and the marathon route will cause disruption to traffic and delays on Friday and Saturday; therefore we recommend that you take this into account when planning dining and other activities.
• From 11 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, Ave. the north-south lane of Bonampak Ave. from the Bullring to Nichupte Ave. was closed to traffic and will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.
Cancun Marathon Race Day Road Closures, Saturday, December 10
On Saturday, December 10, the following roads in Downtown Cancun and two lanes of Kukulcan Boulevard in the Hotel Zone will also be closed:
• At 1 p.m. Sayil Ave. leading to Bonampak Ave. and Nichupté Ave. leading to Bonampak Ave. will be closed.
• At 2 p.m. the entrance to the Hotel Zone will be closed to vehicles along with the two lanes of Kukulcan Boulevard next to the lagoon as far as Playa Delfines. The entrance to El Table road will be closed and the intersection of Ave. Bonampak with Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio will also be partially closed.
• There will also be road blocks affecting Bonampak Ave. with Cobá Ave. and Coba Ave. (North-South traffic circle) and Tulum Ave. with Sayil Ave.
• Once the 5 km Fun Run has ended the road block on Bonampak Ave. will be moved as far as Hospiten hospital and vehicles will be diverted towards Tulum Ave. past the Civic Justice Offices.
If you are going to Downtown Cancun from your resort, please note that all vehicles entering and leaving the Hotel Zone will be using two lanes of Kukulcan Boulevard. Your journey is likely to take longer than normal.
Vehicles heading for the Hotel Zone and the Airport will take the Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard route.

Maratón Nocturno en Cancún este sábado, 10 de diciembre, cierre de algunas avenidas
¡Es el Maratón de Cancún este sábado, 10 de diciembre!
Ahora en su año 32, esta carrera nocturna atrae más de 3,000 competidores internacionales y corredores locales.
La carrera comienza a las 5 p.m. y la ruta que seguirán los corredores cubre Malecón Tajamar (Laguna Nichupté, frente al Centro Comercial Malecón Las Americas), Avenida Bonampak, Calle Antonio Enríquez Savignac (El Table), Blvd. Kukulcán hasta El Mirador (Playa Delfines) a la altura del Km 18 y de regreso.
El punto de partida de esta carrera y la ruta del maratón provocará la interrupción de tráfico y retrasos el día viernes 9 y sábado 10 de diciembre; por lo que le recomendamos tome en cuenta sus tiempos al momento de planear sus actividades.
• A partir de las 11 p.m. del día jueves 8 de diciembre se cerró el carril de norte a sur de la Av. Bonampak, en el tramo comprendido de la Av. Nichupté a la Plaza de Toros, permaneciendo cerrado ese carril durante todo el día viernes.
Cierre de Avenidas el día del Maratón, sábado 10 de diciembre
• A 1 p.m. del día sábado 10 de Diciembre, realizarán cierres preventivos de la Av. Sayil con Av. Bonampak y Bonampak con Av. Nichupté.
• A 2 p.m. se cerrará la entrada a la Zona Hotelera, los dos carriles de subida del Boulevard Kukulcán (del lado de la laguna) hasta Playa Delfines, la entrada de El Table y se realizará el cierre parcial de la intersección de la Av. Bonampak con Boulevard Colosio.
• Cierres preventivos en la Av. Bonampak con Cobá (Serviturismo) Tulum y Av. Cobá (Glorieta Norte-Sur) y Tulum con Sayil.
• Al finalizar el recorrido de la carrera de 5 kilómetros se moverá el dispositivo de cierre hasta el Hospiten y haciendo la desviación de vehículos hacia la Av. Tulum pasando por los Juzgados Cívicos.
Si usted va al centro de Cancún desde su Resort, tenga en cuenta que todos los vehículos que entran y salen de la Zona Hotelera van a utilizar dos carriles del Boulevard Kukulcán. Es probable que su recorrido tarde más de lo normal.
El acceso a la Zona Hotelera se realizará por el Boulevard Colosio, rumbo al aeropuerto.
