Tourists have been flocking to the Mexican Caribbean in record numbers this year and the Quintana Roo State Tourism Board is reporting a 14 percent increase in the number of visitors for 2014 when compared to 2013. It expects to close 2014 with a total of approximately 15 million visitors for the year.
Next year is also looking promising too with a boom in reservations for the winter season and the expansion of the international flight network on the horizon.
In other news, Cozumel has welcomed three million cruise ship passengers this year, the first time in its history that it has done so. It has regained its position as the leading cruise ship destination in the Caribbean.
