Festive Fare at the Royal Restaurants
If you are traveling to Cancun or the Riviera Maya for the Christmas and New Year holiday, there are treats in store for you at all the Royal Resorts restaurants.
On Christmas Eve or Nochebuena as it is known in Mexico, dine on succulent roast turkey or prime rib at Hacienda Sisal when ordering the Christmas menu. El Conquistador is offering a special Christmas five-course dinner featuring rack of lamb or you can order your favorite dishes from the a la carte menu. Dine on Italian seasonal favorites at La Trattoria and of course you can’t beat the seafood and sunsets at Captain’s Cove for an unforgettable meal with family or friends.
And don’t miss the Christmas Eve buffet at La Veranda at The Royal Sands and La Palapa at The Royal Cancun.
The Hacienda Sisal, El Conquistador and La Trattoria Christmas menus are available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Tuck into a hearty Yule buffet on Christmas Day with roast turkey and all the trimmings, glazed Virginia ham, roast beef and much more at La Veranda, La Palapa at The Royal Cancun, Tradewinds at The Royal Caribbean and La Palapa del Sol at The Royal Haciendas.
Los Murales at The Royal Haciendas and El Conquistador, Hacienda Sisal and Captain’s Cove in Cancun will also be offering their a la carte menus on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
New Year’s Eve
Ring in the New Year in style with a sumptuous buffet and open bar (domestic brands) at Captain’s Cove. The evening includes a welcome cocktail, a glass of sparkling wine for the New Year’s toast and the 12 grapes for good luck. After dinner, the party continues next door at Pancho’s & Willy’s Bar with a DJ, live band and a mariachi serenade at midnight.
Hacienda Sisal is serving a five-course set menu, including a welcome cocktail, a glass of sparkling wine and 12 grapes for the midnight toast, party favors and live Mexican music during the evening.
For an evening of fine food and live guitar music with Jorge Duran, try El Conquistador at The Royal Islander. The tempting five-course New Year’s Eve set menu includes mixed lettuce, goat cheese, pine nut and apple salad, seafood bisque with anchovy foam and brioche croutons, tangerine sorbet, roast rack of lamb with a dried fruit crust and a heavenly chocolate and mint mousse with red berries.
New Year’s Eve gala buffets will be served at La Veranda and La Palapa at The Royal Cancun and members and guests staying at The Royal Haciendas will have their own Caribbean-style New Year’s Eve festivities at La Palapa del Sol with a buffet, music for dancing and much more.

Children’s Christmas Activities
Special activities such as piñata parties, face painting, crafts and much more are in store for the little ones to enjoy this year. For more information ask at the Activity Center in the resort.
Christmas Sparkles
Displays of striking poinsettia plants or nochebuenas, Mexico’s Christmas gift to the world, line the hallways. Nativity scenes, Santa and his sleigh and Christmas trees adorn the resort entrances, garlands decorate the walls and lights twinkle everywhere you look.
At The Royal Haciendas, members and guests joined staff for the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony on December 1. They were greeted with a welcome drink of ponche, a traditional Mexican Yuletide beverage made with fresh fruit, sugar cane and spices, and watched as the Riviera Maya’s largest Christmas tree was lit. As part of the event, an auction was organized to raise money for charity and collected $16,098 for the Royal Resorts Foundation community causes.
