If you are bound for the Riviera Maya, here’s the latest The Royal Haciendas dining news to tempt your taste buds.
• New Friday Farewell Party coming this March
With a BBQ and live music on the pool deck, the Friday Farewell Party will be a chance for members and guests to have fun under the stars, Riviera Maya style. Every Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (weather permitting).
• Waffle Party
Also new this March, a tempting treat on Wednesdays. The Waffle Party is from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
• Jarritos, try this traditional Mexican drink from Jalisco
Also new this March, jarritos (or cantaritos) is a traditional drink from the land of tequila itself, Jalisco. Made with a shot of tequila, orange and grapefruit juice, lime juice, and grapefruit soda, it is served in a clay mug called a cantarito or jarrito. The rim of the mug is frosted with salt, ice and slices of lime, grapefruit and orange are then added to the drink. It is very refreshing. Muy bueno!
At The Royal Haciendas when you order a jarrito, the clay mug is included in the price and makes a great souvenir of your Mexico vacation. If your second jarrito is served in the same mug, it will be cheaper.
• Kinokó Restaurant opening on March 28

There will be three sittings for Teppanyaki (5:30, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.) and reservations are required, as they are for Shabu-shabu meals. Stay posted for more updates.
