After a day out in the Mexican Caribbean enjoying the warm sun and sea breeze, you can work up quite an appetite and there’s nothing better than a plate of fresh seafood for dinner at one of the Royal Resorts restaurants in Cancun or the Riviera Maya. Here’s our guide to some of the tastiest seafood on offer during the week. Try one, try them all.
Our newest seafood spot, Sand Dollar
Sand Dollar, the new cevichería on the open-air terrace outside Sidelines Bar at The Royal Sands is a popular spot for lunch or an early evening meal.
Try chef Juan Manuel’s Fuentes five different ceviche recipes, order a classic shrimp cocktail or munch on seafood tostadas and tacos, they are all delicious. Sand Dollar is open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., sushi is also available from 5 p.m.
Sunsets and seafood at Captain’s Cove
Waterfront dining at its best, Captain’s Cove is a Cancun classic. Enjoy the finest locally sourced seafood, spectacular sunsets and great cocktails. Choose lobster, shrimp and fish cooked to order, try a hearty traditional seafood broth, carpaccio or octopus pizza. And for meat lovers there’s Prime Rib Night every Wednesday and Saturday.
Cuisine, music and art at Los Murales
Lobster, fish, shrimp and clams are paired with fresh herbs, exotic spices, lime and a dash of chili to create a perfect blend of flavors for an exceptional dining experience. Live guitar music, art and an elegant setting await diners at Los Murales, The Royal Haciendas’ signature restaurant in the Riviera Maya.
Lobster night at The Royal Cancun
Monday night is Lobster night at La Palapa, The Royal Cancun’s beachfront restaurant. Dine under the stars on the shores of the bay.
