Delicious Royal Dining this June
Culinary Experiences by Royal Resorts is our monthly selection of mouthwatering dining surprises and signature cocktails at all the restaurants and bars. Wherever you dine, ask your waiter about the specials on offer in addition to the a la carte menus or buffets. Here are some of the highlights in June.
The Royal Sands
If you are staying at The Royal Sands, the selection of June lunch specials includes chicken or vegetarian gyros and tzatziki naan on Monday. On Tuesday, order Royal fried chicken and snack on a muffuletta sandwich or avocado, cheese and mushroom melt on Wednesday. Thursday is grilled beef taco day, there’s mezcal-stye chicken on Friday, pork dumplings with sweet and sour sauce or deep-fried crispy chicken tacos on Saturday and the ever-popular paella or vegetable fried rice on Sunday.
Don’t miss the theme nights during the week at La Veranda, several of them are outside on the terrace and feature live music.
Be sure to order one of La Veranda’s summery cocktails this June, they include Jarritos Locos on Monday, a refreshing citrus-tequila drink from Jalisco, pink, white and red berry Clericot on Thursday and the Pai Ai and Coco Locos on Friday.
June 28 is Ceviche Day on the Tulum Terrace for all seafood lovers.
The Royal Islander
If you are staying at The Royal Islander in June, try these tasty lunch treats. Start with the popular Smoke BBQ on Monday and order a shrimp burrito on Tuesday. It’s time for tacos and jumbo quesadillas on Wednesday and brisket nachos on Thursday. There is a burger and sandwich festival on Friday, chicken club sandwiches on Saturday and a wings festival on Sunday.
In addition to the a la carte menu at Cayo Largo, check out the theme nights during the week. The Maya Martini is the signature cocktail for June and Ceviche Day on June 28 and Chilpachole Day (Mexican seafood soup) on June 30 will also feature some tasty specials.
The Royal Cancun
Sit back and enjoy the view and some hearty lunch specials on the pool decks at The Royal Cancun this June. On Monday you can order an artisanal burger or a hot dog made with Argentinian chistorra or chorizo sausage. On Tuesday there’s Robatayaki, Japanese chargrilled beef, chicken and seafood and on Wednesday it’s time for the Smoke BBQ. Thursday and Friday have a Mexican flavor with pork chamorro and mezcal-style grilled chicken and on Sunday, the chefs cook up paella.
With its endless views of turquoise water and boats on the bay, La Palapa is a lovely setting for a casual lunch and candlelit dinner and be sure to try the theme nights too, there’s a new International Night on Saturday. If you are a seafood fan, the cazuela de mariscos or seafood casserole is the June special.
Cool off with a Mexican raspado, shaved ice flavored with a variety of fruit syrups, at La Palapa and join the chefs for Ceviche Day on June 28 and Chilpachole Day on June 30.
The Royal Haciendas, Riviera Maya
For lunch with a traditional Mexican flavor, try Los Anafres. This buffet includes a selection of five different hot dishes every day, along with beef, chicken and pastor-style pork to make your own tacos and rice, beans, guacamole and salsas. Every day from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Sol and Luna Grill are serving up some delicious lunch specials in addition to the a la carte menu: pulled pork sandwiches on Monday, fried fish on Tuesday, fruit cocktails and crudités on Wednesday, pastor-style pork, beef and chicken tacos on Thursday, mezcal-grilled chicken on Friday and paella on Sunday. You can also order a seafood platter every day.
Don’t miss Mexican Night on Monday and BBQ Night with Rock & Roll Show on Friday at Sol Grill or the La Palapa del Sol theme nights during the week.
For a sweet start to the day, there’s a Donut Corner in La Palapa del Sol for breakfast and a Gala chocolate night on Tuesday at La Palapa del Sol.
Try the chef’s specials at our signature restaurants
If you are planning dinner at our signature restaurants, be sure to ask your waiter about the showstopper June chef’s specials available in addition to the a la carte menus. At Hacienda Sisal next to The Royal Sands, you can try a Pastor-style pork burger or a creamy Mexican dessert: guava mousse with cheese ice cream and borrachito candies. Captain’s Cove on the shores of the lagoon has a hearty seafood casserole, lobster and shrimp pizza, salmon with bourbon and orange sauce and lime pie. El Conquistador at The Royal Islander is serving chateaubriand with a trio of sauces until June 15 and a cowboy steak in brandy sauce from June 16 to 30. La Trattoria at The Royal Cancun is showcasing ravioli with different fillings. At The Royal Haciendas, Los Murales has the Murales grill, Tomahawk steak and shrimp aguachile and Kinoko surf and turf, rib-eye and lamb chop with Asian flavors and beef fillet in bankai sauce with mango cream.
Make a reservation for the Hacienda Sisal Tequila & Mezcal Pairing on Monday or Friday and the 37 Years of El Conquistador Special Dinner on Friday.
Plan an evening at Captain’s Cove where you can choose your favorite seafood dishes from the menu or order the monthly specials. Remember that our lagoonside restaurant also has a Steak Night with live music on Monday, Prime Rib on Wednesday and Saturday and Lobster Night on Friday.
Available at all restaurants, chocolate mint is the ice cream flavor of the month from Hola Bola, our very own brand of ice cream made on site and also stocked by the Royal Market stores.
