Two teams of soccer celebrities from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Europe took to the pitch in Cancun. Players of the caliber of Lionel Messi, Robinho and Giovanni Dos Santos participated in this charity game in the Andrés Quintana Roo Stadium.
Whale Shark Festival
Isla Mujeres, June 21-24
The inhabitants of Isla Mujeres are looking forward to the Fifth Whale Shark Festival to be held from June 21-24. This interesting event brings together whale shark researchers, conservationists, visitors and local fishermen. There are seminars during which biologists such as Rafael de la Parra, director of Mexico’s Proyecto Domino and representatives of the Georgia Aquarium and the Ningaloo Reef projects share their findings with the audience and field questions. Other events include concerts and traditional dances. Of course, it is also possible to book an eco-trip out to the whale shark feeding area to see these gentle giants for yourself.
