Have fun and keep fit during your Royal Resorts vacation. From tennis and beach volleyball to a morning swim in the lap pool, aqua aerobics and sail boating, there’s something for everyone. Work out at the resort gym, join a yoga or zumba session or go bike riding, it’s all here and for golfers, Royal Resorts members and guests even get special green fees at several local courses.

There are fitness centers at The Royal Sands, The Royal Caribbean, The Royal Cancun and The Royal Haciendas in the Riviera Maya. Daily and weekly rates are available and a multi-gym pass. Use of the fitness center is included in the REFINE All-Inclusive package. If you want something different, the Activity Centers also offer a full program of fitness sessions, games and sports. There’s yoga, zumba, pilates and aqua fitness in the morning and don’t miss the Latin dance classes. Join in the pool fun with a game of water polo and at 3 p.m. it’s time for beach volleyball!

Visit the Sports desk at your resort during your Royal Resorts vacation to book a tennis court and sign out rackets and balls. Ask about the singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournaments at the different resorts during the week. If you would like to book a class, clinic or game with the tennis Pro you can make a reservation with Sports desk staff. There are also full and half basketball courts at The Royal Sands, the Royal Cancun and The Royal Islander and a multi-use sports court at The Royal Haciendas.

The Sports desk also has snorkeling gear, basketballs and footballs, board games and more available for you to sign out.

If you want to get out on the waves, book a sailboat through the Sports desk at The Royal Cancun and go sailing on the bay with Isla Mujeres in the distance or in Nichupte Lagoon if you are staying at The Royal Sands, The Royal Caribbean or The Royal Islander. There’s a regatta every Friday morning at the Royal Marina beside Captain’s Cove restaurant. Sailboat classes are available if you have never been sailing before.

Guests staying at The Royal Cancun can also try their hand at kayaking and paddle boarding. The Activity Center organizes a weekly kayak tour of the lagoon and the mangrove forest for a glimpse of the local wildlife such as herons, kingfishers, iguanas and the occasional crocodile basking in the sun. Reservations are required for all these activities.

The Royal Haciendas in the Riviera Maya offers kayaks and you can sign up for snorkeling, kayak and bike tours at the Sports desk. Paddle boards may be rented from a concession on the beach.

Keen golfers can take advantage of special discounted green fees at several prestigious courses in the Cancun area and the Riviera Maya to get out on the fairway during their Royal Resorts vacation. The Royal Golf program offers members and guests discounted rates to play at Playa Mujeres, Puerto Cancun and Iberostar Cancun golf clubs in the Cancun area and at Iberostar Playa Paraiso and Grand Coral in the Riviera Maya.

Each of these courses offers a Royal Tournament day too so that you can pit your golfing skills against fellow Royal Resorts guests. The current schedule is Monday at Grand Coral, Tuesday at Playa Mujeres, Wednesday at Iberostar Cancun, Thursday at Iberostar Playa Paraiso and Friday at Puerto Cancun. A minimum of 12 players is required for the tournament to take place at the Iberostar Cancun and Iberostar Playa Paraiso courses. If you didn’t bring your golf gear with you, the Sports desk has a limited supply of single golf clubs for sign out and you can also rent full golf bags from the Royal Market.
