Three Kings Day surprise for children in the Zona Maya
Thank you to all Royal Resorts members, guests and team members who donated a toy during the December holidays. Your gifts were part of a Los Reyes Magos surprise for children living in seven Mayan communities in central Quintana Roo during a Ciudad de la Alegría Three Kings Day event on January 6.
Mexican children traditionally receive gifts from the Three Kings on January 6, and children in the villages of Yaxché, Hondzonot, Chanchén 1, Sahcab Mucuy, Campamento Hidalgo, Nuevo Durango and Tres Reyes, three hours to the south of Cancun, had an unforgettable day when they came to visit bearing gifts. With the support of Royal Resorts and other hotels, local companies and universities, 50 volunteers distributed more than 1,800 toys, 500 pairs of sandals, bicycles, scooters and tricycles to the little ones.
During the fun event, children played games, munched on the traditional rosca de reyes cake and took turns to hit the piñata, racing to gather the candies that showered down when it broke.
With your generosity, the Royal Resorts Foundation was able to help spread some happiness this holiday season.
