ASUR has announced a US$1.4 billion-dollar investment at Cancun International Airport for 2024 to renovate and expand passenger services in Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 and build a Maya Train station.

In our December newsletter, we mentioned the inauguration of Tulum Airport as an example of new transportation infrastructure in the area, however flying into Cancun International Airport will always be the best and quickest option for Royal Resorts members staying in Cancun or at Grand Residences and The Royal Haciendas in the Riviera Maya.

Taxi rates from Tulum Airport to Tulum, Valladolid and other area destinations are said to be very high and public bus transportation from the new facility has not begun yet.
