Royal Resorts is always looking for ways to enhance your vacation experience and a number of projects were carried out in 2016, and additional ones planned for 2017, to make your resort home even more comfortable and give you even more things to enjoy. Here’s a look at some of the most important amenities and activities to look forward to on your next vacation. Resort Improvements
- Supervised Kids Club activities now available for members at no additional charge at The Royal Sands, The Royal Cancun and The Royal Haciendas

- Replacement of Standard Definition with HD for 20 TV channels in the villas at all resorts

- New pillows and pillowcases for villa bedrooms at The Royal Islander, The Royal Caribbean, the Royal Sands and The Royal Cancun
- New bedspreads in all C Villas at The Royal Cancun
Coming in 2017, The Royal Haciendas Furniture Upholstery Project (FF & E)
At The Royal Haciendas, this year will see the start of a project to replace the upholstery on living room couches and easy chairs, dining room chairs, bar and dressing room stools and bedroom chairs in the villas. Plush fabrics in rich tones will be accented with new curtains, cushions and rugs. This project will be carried out over the next four years.
100 Villas at The Royal Sands have a Brand New Look
The villa renovation program at The Royal Sands is in full swing and 100 units were completed in 2016, giving them a stylish new look and comfortable furnishings for members and guests to enjoy. Another 80 units will get their makeover this year and the remainder in 2018 and 2019.
Other Improvements at the Resorts
On your next visit you’ll notice that several of the resort businesses have also been making upgrades for your vacation enjoyment. These include new dining options, renovations at The Royal Market and Thomas More Travel.
First up is news from the Royal Resorts restaurant scene, try new dining options such as the Smoke BBQ lunch at The Royal Islander, paninis and crepes at La Rotonda Bar, The Royal Haciendas, the Sand Dollar cevicheria at The Royal Sands and Mexican wine tasting dinners at Hacienda Sisal. There’s a new beach bar called Sippin’ and Dippin’ at The Royal Cancun and, a new open-air terrace bar at Tradewinds at The Royal Caribbean.
The Royal Market store at The Royal Islander was renovated and the fridges at The Royal Sands were replaced during the year. All stores are now sporting a brand new logo.
The Thomas More Travel tour desk at The Royal Sands has been completely renovated and expanded into the office formerly occupied by the British Consulate. It includes the car rental desk and is a much more better space for customers and staff, with comfy seating and big screens showing videos of major tourist attractions in the Mexican Caribbean and the Yucatan.
The resort businesses such as restaurants and bars, travel agency, spa, gym, resort stores and gift shops are independent entities with their own budgets. They are not included in the resort operating budgets and are not paid for by the member Club Service Fee.
