Mexico’s mariachi music and culture has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO in the intangible category reserved for traditions. It joins Mexican cuisine, Day of the Dead festivities, indigenous music from Michoacan, the Papantla Flyers and the Parachicos Fiesta celebrated in January in Chiapa de Corzo, Chiapas on this prestigious list.
