A day of romance, Riviera Maya beaches and sunset sailing
On your next trip to Royal Resorts spend the day together exploring the area. How about some beach time, island hopping or a sunset cruise? Here are some ideas.
In search of your favorite beach
Plan a day of Riviera Maya beach hopping, there are so many breathtaking crescents of white sand and palm-lined bays to choose from along this stretch of shoreline, with idyllic spots to be found in Puerto Morelos, Punta Maroma, Xpu-Ha and Akumal, among others.
Enjoy a lunch of fresh ceviche or shrimp tacos at a Caribbean beach bar in Akumal, Xpu-Ha or Puerto Aventuras and on your way back, why not stop off in Playa del Carmen for a spot of shopping for Mexican folk art, a cocktail and dinner on Quinta Avenida.
Set sail on a romantic sunset dinner cruise
Set sail on a romantic sunset cruise this February. Board the famous Spanish galleon Columbus for a voyage across the Nichupte Lagoon. Dine on charcoal-grilled lobster and sip a Caribbean cocktail as you listen to the soft melodies of a saxophone performer.
Enjoy the gentle breeze and watch the moon come up and the Cancun lights twinkle under a star-filled sky. Delicious food and romantic moments, this will be an unforgettable evening to celebrate love.
If you would like to spend a day out on the waves, you can choose from catamaran cruises through the bay between Cancun and Isla Mujeres or along the Riviera Maya coast. For even more luxury, charter a private yacht with your own captain and crew for a day of sailing, snorkeling and relaxing on the deck. Take in the incredible views as you sip a glass of bubbly.
Island sunsets
Make your way to Playa Linda in Cancun Hotel Zone or Puerto Juarez and take the ferry across the bay to Isla Mujeres. Spend the morning on picture-perfect Playa Norte where gazing out at the endless turquoise waters is pure beach bliss.
After a lunch of fresh seafood, it’s time to explore the island. Hire a golf cart and drive to Punta Sur for incredible views of the Caribbean with Cancun Hotel Zone in the distance.
As an alternative, set sail on a yacht for a cruise around the island. Your captain will stop for you to go snorkeling in the bay. Keep a look out for sea turtles and even dolphins.
Back on the waterfront, make your way to one of Isla’s tropical palapa beach bars to order a drink, watch local fishermen unloading their catch and wait for the sunset. Playa Norte is one of the best places in the area to watch the sun go down.
If you prefer Cozumel, drive to Playa del Carmen and hop on the ferry to Mexico’s largest inhabited island. After a day of snorkeling, diving or exploring, make your way to one of the palm-lined beaches along the leeward coast for views of the sun setting over the mainland.
Go further afield to the island of Holbox just off the Gulf coast in northern Quintana Roo, another romantic spot with truly spectacular sunsets, long beaches and tropical ambiance.
