Contoy
Known as the “Isla de Pajaros” or Island of Birds, Contoy is a tiny island to the north of Cancun and Isla Mujeres that is an important bird sanctuary. Its mangrove forests and palm groves are full of birdcalls and visitors will catch a glimpse of colonies of pelicans, frigate birds, roseate spoonbills and several species of herons.
