Opened in 2000, The Royal Sands, the largest resort in the Royal Resorts Collection, is celebrating its 17th anniversary this season. A glorious beach setting at the heart of the Cancún Hotel Zone, 340 spacious ocean-view villas and an array of services ranging from a full-service spa and gym to a marina, activity center and kids club, restaurants and a sports bar make it a family favorite.
The Royal Sands began the season with a restaurant opening, Sand Dollar is the new cevichería on the open-air terrace at Sidelines Bar serving seafood cocktails, tostadas, tacos and a selection of Latin America’s favorite fish dish, ceviche.
The Royal Sands villa renovation project is proceeding and 80 more units are set for completion this year.
All villas have new terrace furniture, including a larger oval-shaped table, chairs and loungers.
Other changes that you’ll notice during your next vacation at The Royal Sands include the new upholstery for couches and chairs in the lobbies, the transformation of the area shared by the Thomas More Travel and Alamo car rental desks, the new stairway from the pool bar up to the sun deck in Phase 1 and the Kids Club and Tiny Tots area in the Activity Center.
