The resorts are all decked out in their festive finery with banks of nochebuenas or poinsettias, Nativity scenes, Christmas trees and glittering garlands everywhere you look.
At The Royal Sands, the decorations are inspired by the sea, with turtles, fish, jelly fish, sea horses and sea fans made from recycled aluminum, plastic and papier mâché, painted red, green and gold and sprinkled with glitter and sequins. They are very ingenious and look impressive.
At the Royal Haciendas, members, guests and staff gathered in the lobby on December 1 for the traditional “Share a Warm Light” Christmas tree lighting ceremony. They enjoyed a glass of ponche, a Mexican drink served at this time of year, sang White Christmas together and watched as the lights on the tree were switched on.
A Christmas auction was held and members and guests bid for souvenir t-shirts and other items. As a result of this fundraising event, $16,098 pesos was collected for the Royal Resorts Foundation’s charity causes.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in The Royal Haciendas ceremony and donated to help those in need.
