An attraction for cruise ship passengers and families exploring the Costa Maya, the Lost Maya Kingdom is a new water park in Mahahual with a dash of Indiana Jones adventure thrown in.
Nine water slides down the side of a 112-foot pyramid, four zip line circuits, some with water splashdowns, a zip line coaster, rope bridges, pools, the lazy river, and jungle trails make this a hit with children. For a spot of relaxation, visitors can drift along the Jaguar River or swim in the cenote.
From the slides to restaurants and gift stores, everything is decorated on the Maya theme with touches that look as they are straight out of an archaeologists’ base camp in the middle of the forest.
