We would like to give you the following information regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in our area. For reference, we have divided it into subsections, use the tabs to find what you need.

Information for USA Travelers

The Centers for Disease Control announced that a COVID test will be required for passengers flying into the United States starting in January 26.

Royal Resorts will make tests available onsite and at special rates for our guests starting January 23.  Further details on this will be published shortly.

In the meantime, tests can be arranged through the doctor’s offices at your resort.  (See below for details.)

New Canadian and United Kingdom COVID-19 travel rules

Canada and the United Kingdom have new travel regulations for all inbound passengers. They must take a COVID-19 test before traveling from another country to Canada or the United Kingdom. This new rule applies to citizens of both countries who are returning home and foreign nationals and for international and domestic airlines.

Both countries now require travelers to show documentation of a negative laboratory test result to the airline prior to boarding their flight. The test must be performed using a COVID-19 molecular polymerase chain reaction test (PCR test) within 72 hours of their scheduled departure for Canada or the United Kingdom.

COVID-19 PCR tests can be arranged through the Doctor’s Offices at your resort

Guests who are going to need to take the COVID-19 PCR test before departure may arrange an appointment through the Doctor’s office at their resort.

At the Cancun resorts the test costs US$150 and is performed in your villa. The results are available in 12 hours.

Guests staying at The Royal Haciendas and Grand Residences can have the test performed in Playa del Carmen at LACLICSA laboratory, which charges $2,944 pesos (results in 12 hours). Appointments for the test can be made with the doctor on duty.

The villa testing service that costs US$150 is also available on request at The Royal Haciendas and Grand Residences.

Anyone who receives a negative test result and is authorized to enter Canada must still complete the full, mandatory 14-day quarantine. In the case of the United Kingdom all inbound passengers must fill in a passenger locator form and self-isolate for 10 days regardless of the test result.

Prices and result delivery times are subject to change without prior notice and Royal Resorts has no control over them.
