Cancun and the Riviera Maya are two of the world’s favorite beach playgrounds and Yucatan’s Mayan heritage continues to attract visitors but Mexico is a world of its own with endless attractions. Here are some of the Mexican cities that made the 2018 Must Visit lists in leading international travel magazines and guides.

First up, Condé Nast Traveler recommends the vibrant city of Guadalajara and the low-key Pacific beach getaways of Sayulita, Puerto Escondido and Mazunte this year. Nat Geo Traveler showcases Oaxaca in its 2018 Best Trips list, Lonely Planet chooses Guanajuato, and the LA Times goes for San Miguel de Allende, all three are colonial treasures and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Travel & Leisure also included Mexico City and Los Cabos in its 50 Best Places to Travel in 2018 and the New York Times the East Cape area of Los Cabos. And finally, travel expert Wendy Perrin of www.wendyperrin.com includes the colonial city of Puebla, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Cabo Pulmo near Los Cabos on her Where to Travel in 2018 list.
