This month’s Cancun flight news is the inauguration of Terminal 4 at Cancun International Airport. Opened by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on October 31, this new terminal boosts the airport’s total space by 36.7 percent and gives it the capacity to handle up to 25 million passengers, a figure that could rise even further to 32 million in the next decade.
In more Cancun flight news, Mexican airline Interjet is now offering direct flights to Cancun and Mexico City from Vancouver, Canada. There will be four flights a week linking the three cities.
As of April 14, 2018 Southwest Airlines will operate direct Saturday flights to Cancun from Columbus, Ohio and New Orleans (subject to government approval).
The colonial treasures of Mexico’s Bajio region, Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende are now more accessible than ever with a new route offered by Mexican airline Interjet. The flight from Cancun to Guanajuato departs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
