Fans of the iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo will be able to get a glimpse of her life and work at the new Frida Kahlo Museum in Playa del Carmen, which opened on July 30.

The second museum in the world dedicated to this extraordinary artist, the Frida Kahlo Museum is a multimedia experience. In addition to the paintings of Frida Kahlo, the exhibition features film clips, video mapping and interactive screens on the artist, her sources of inspiration and on individual works that are designed to help visitors interpret and appreciate them.

The new museum is located on Quinta Ave and Calle 8 and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Frida Kahlo Museum is the latest in a growing list of attractions in Playa del Carmen. Visitors can spend the day on the beach, indulge with a spot of shopping, visit the Playacar Aviary, get a glimpse of the underwater world at L’Aquarium on Quinta Ave. and have fun at the 3D Museum of Wonders on 10th Avenue.
