Endless sea views and touches of design at Royal Uno

The countdown is on to the opening of Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa on June 28 and the hosts are getting ready to welcome the first guests with a wealth of unique and unforgettable guest experiences.

Royal Uno will take guests back to the days of “Old” Cancún of the 1970s, authentic Cancun with personalized service and a truly relaxing ambiance.

Proud of its Mexican Caribbean heritage, it evokes a sense of the past and of Cancún’s pioneer days while also offering contemporary style and touches of sophistication. From arches and terraces to accents of cantera or stone, wood, tile, colors and tropical plants pay tribute to the area’s natural bounty and history.

Rooms with a view

Royal Uno pays tribute to the Caribbean with endless vistas of sparkling turquoise waters. The sea seems to reach through the huge arched windows into the 540 rooms and suites that are just steps from Cancún’s best beach. They are literally windows to the sea and to unfettered views of paradise.

All Royal Uno rooms and suites are decorated in restful colors, with touches of tropical wood and marble. Daniela Padilla of Et Al Estudio, the company behind the interior design of the rooms and guest areas at the resort says, “we had many sources of inspiration for designing the spaces and we wanted to bring some of the tones of the coral reefs and the underwater world into the rooms.”

The color palette of ivory, aqua, salmon, pale green and blue is soothing and perfect for unwinding. The upholstery and bed linens reflect the colors of some of the different corals and the style is fresh, simple and very comfortable. Wood gives the rooms warmth and the ceramic tiles in the bathrooms and on the terraces evoke the traditional hacienda style of the Yucatan.

Another nod to the area’s heritage is the addition of a hammock on the outdoor terrace in many of the rooms and all the suites. No Yucatecan house is without one to beat the tropical heat. As you slip into a hammock at Royal Uno, the sea views and soft breeze will soon lull you into a perfect state of Mexican Caribbean relaxation.

Depending on the size and capacity, Royal Uno rooms have queen-size or king-size beds and there are also murphy beds in the one and two-bedroom suites. Sink into premium bedding for a blissful night’s sleep. Thoughtfully selected amenities include a coffee maker, mini fridge, seating areas, high speed Wi-Fi, smart TV and blue tooth speakers.

Perfect for a Cancun getaway with family or friends, the one and two-bedroom suites have a living and dining area and bathrooms with showers and a tub. The larger terraces have tables, chairs and sun loungers.

For an added touch of luxury, some beachfront ground floor suites also have round whirlpools or private plunge pools.
