From seafood to cocktails, there are plenty of new Royal Resorts dining treats on the menu for you to try on your next vacation in Cancun or at The Royal Haciendas.

New lunch menu at Captain’s Cove
First up is Captain’s Cove, which has a tasty new lunch menu in store for you. What could be better than a casual afternoon on the waterfront deck with an ice-cold beer or Caribbean cocktail and fresh seafood? Choose from a taco trilogy (shrimp, fish and octopus) with guacamole, fish and chips, mixed brochettes, shrimp pasta and the classic Captain’s Cove favorite coconut shrimp. Don’t miss it!

Try the Caldo de Piedra seafood broth at Hacienda Sisal
And on the subject of traditional seafood dishes, you’ll want to try the Caldo de Piedra in Hacienda Sisal. This hearty Mexican seafood broth contains fish and shrimp and is actually served in a heated mortar of volcanic stone. The heat from the stones cooks the soup, hence the name, caldo de piedra (literally stone soup) and the recipe has its roots in the pre-Hispanic period.

Traditionally, fishermen in Oaxaca would set a campfire on the shoreline and choose cooking stones to heat up in the flames. They would prepare the soup in a jicara or hollowed out gourd and place it over the stones, adding tomato, coriander, epazote, chili, fish and shrimp. What a simple and delicious way to cook the catch of the day.

Hacienda Sisal is now serving fresh handmade corn tortillas, be sure to ask for them with your meal.

Finally, order a glass of premium tequila or mezcal from the menu.

Sidelines Bar has a new Smoke Margarita
The Royal Resorts bartenders are mixology magicians and this time they have come up with a winner. For a sophisticated twist on a classic margarita, try the new Smoked Margarita at Sidelines Bar in The Royal Sands. It is prepared tableside with spices, orange and lime and the smoky flavor comes from burning the bottom of the wooden barrel used to store the tequila during the aging process.

Casual lunch at Tradewinds
Staying at The Royal Caribbean this season? There’s a new lunch menu for you to order on the terrace, pool or beach. Choose from burgers or hot dogs, fried chicken, fish fingers with French fries or a Chicken Caesar Salad wrap.   One soda or Mexican beer is included.

Also back by popular demand for the summer are the fresh coconuts served au natural or with rum, vodka or gin and the beer bucket special in the pool and beach bar.
