On March 24 at 8:30 p.m., Royal Resorts will dim the lights for Earth Hour, the global campaign organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature or World Wildlife Fund) to draw attention to the effects of climate change and the urgent need to protect the one thing that unites us all, the Planet.

Non-essential lights will be turned off around the resorts and members and guests are invited to join in by dimming the lights in their villas and attending special Earth Hour activities.

The Royal Haciendas is celebrating 10 years of Earth Hour participation and will have events on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday the Connect2Earth event will include a show, competitions and activities for guests and staff.

Commemorative Earth Hour 2018 t-shirts will be on sale during the day at The Royal Haciendas with all proceeds going to the Royal Resorts Foundation community and conservation causes.

Grand Residences will also be participating in Earth Hour with its own program of activities.

In 2017, 187 countries took part in Earth Hour and more than 3,000 of the world’s most famous landmarks were dimmed. Millions of people came together to take action, making pledges to protect the environment, whether at home, in the workplace or in their communities.

More news about Earth Hour activities at Royal Resorts and Grand Residences will be published on the Royal Resorts blog as the date approaches.
