From March 13 to 16, Cancun hosted the Third Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival. This year’s festival paid homage to French cuisine and the influence that it has had in Mexico and around the world.
The 2014 Festival featured 26 events including conferences, wine and spirits tastings, a sunset catamaran cruise, interactive cooking challenges for teams of star chefs, gala dinners and a gourmet tasting village. The closing celebration was a tribute to tempting French desserts and patisserie.
Among the personalities attending this year’s event were star Chefs Daniel Boulud (France and New York) and Guillermo González Beristain (Mexico, Paris), Canadian Sommelier Veronique Rivest and Mexican writers Martha Ortiz Chapa and Laura Esquivel, author of the internationally acclaimed book Como Agua para Chocolate (Like Water for Chocolate).
For the second year running Royal Resorts participated in the event, this time with Grand Residences, El Faro Grill and gifted French chef Yann Cozic.
The Festival is the brainchild of longtime Royal Resorts member and Montreal resident David Amar.
