Help the Royal Resorts Foundation spread some happiness this season. A Christmas Toy Drive is underway at Royal Resorts to collect gifts for sick and needy children in the area. With your support we can bring a smile to the faces of many little ones on Dia de Reyes, January 6.
If you are currently staying at Royal Resorts or will be traveling to Cancun over the Christmas holidays you can join our community initiative by giving a toy.
What can you donate?
- Plastic balls
- Barbie and similar dolls
- Cars
- Soft toys
- Tea sets and other kitchen play sets
- Board games
- Children’s books (in Spanish)
- Coloring books and art sets
- Candies
Please do not donate battery-operated toys, guns and war games
The collection point for toys is the Reception area at the resorts. Look for the decorated gift box in the lobby. If you would like to drop off gifts you can also ask for the Guest Services or Operations Manager.
The Toy Drive will remain open until January 2.
Día de Reyes Party for Children, January 6
All the toys donated this season will be distributed on January 6, Dia de Reyes, which is the day that Mexican children traditionally receive gifts. This year Royal Resorts Foundation volunteers will be visiting the rural community of Leona Vicario to surprise children with a Spreading Happiness party.
The Royal Resorts Foundation looks for ways to transform the lives of those in need; it provides screening and medical treatment for the seriously ill and funds scholarships for children from disadvantaged households. In addition to its community work, it is also working with conservation groups to protect the Mayan jungle and the creatures that inhabit it.
