We would like to inform you about a change in the transportation service from The Royal Haciendas to Playa del Carmen.
In order to optimize resources and use them for activities and events that all our members can enjoy, the free transport service to Playa del Carmen provided by the membership and sales office has been suspended. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause; however, we are able to offer you an alternative, transportation in taxi vans at a preferential rate of $35 pesos per person. The timetable is as follows:
Morning departures
The Royal Haciendas – Playa del Carmen: 10:15 a.m. – 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Playa del Carmen – The Royal Haciendas: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Afternoon departures
The Royal Haciendas – Playa del Carmen: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Playa del Carmen – The Royal Haciendas: 6 p.m.
The afternoon service will continue to be complimentary.
Healthy Food Line at The Royal Market
The Royal Market has launched a line of organic and healthy products at its stores in all the Royal Resorts. Products available include organic coffee, vanilla and pasta, soya, almond and rice milk, low salt products and sugar-free jams and cookies.
Captain’s Cove Cooks Up Lionfish
Royal Resorts and Captain’s Cove Restaurant have joined the campaign to eradicate lionfish from the Mexican Caribbean by adding it to the menu.
Originally from the Indo-Pacific region, lionfish is an exotic species that is believed to have escaped from a Florida aquarium in the wake of a hurricane and is now found in the Caribbean. It preys on small reef fish and because it has no natural predators, it has spread through the area, devastating reef ecosystems.
In the Mexican Caribbean, fishermen are being encouraged to catch it and help limit its advance. It makes a tasty morsel and restaurants like Captain’s Cove are also doing their bit to support the eradication campaign by serving it in a variety of ways such as tiradito or ceviche and fried fillets.
