Royal Resorts has two reasons to celebrate this week. July 1 marks the fifth anniversary of the inauguration of the first phase of our first Riviera Maya resort, The Royal Haciendas and June 29 was the 34th anniversary of the opening of our first resort, The Royal Cancun.
Nestled on one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, on the shores of a sheltered bay teeming with colorful marine life from the offshore reefs, and just five minutes from vibrant Playa del Carmen, The Royal Haciendas pays tribute to the grand old haciendas of the Yucatán with its architecture and lovingly tended gardens full of native trees and shrubs. An impressive array of services and activities including restaurants, spa, fitness center, water sports and tennis has made this beach hideaway a favorite.
Royal Resorts would like to thank members who decided to be there from the beginning for the birth of our new resort and those that have since joined us to enjoy our hallmark hospitality and Riviera Maya relaxation. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance your vacation and we hope to see you again soon in your home in paradise.
Members and guests at the resort during week 26 are invited to sign our commemorative banners with their hand or footprint. Ask your Concierge or other resort staff to accompany you to the terrace where they are located.
As mentioned earlier, this is a week of double celebrations: June 29 was the 34th anniversary of the inauguration of the first villas at The Royal Cancun, known as Club Internacional de Cancun back in 1977. Our first resort located on Cancun’s sheltered northern shore proved so popular with members and their families that The Royal Mayan soon followed in 1985, The Royal Caribbean in 1988, The Royal Islander in 1993, The Royal Sands in 2000 (phase I) and The Royal Haciendas in 2006.
A Cancun pioneer, Royal Resorts is now one of the world’s leading vacation ownership companies and has 85,000 member families from 71 countries.
From a handful of employees in 1977, Royal Resorts currently has a workforce of 3,000, all sharing the philosophy of hospitality and service that was instilled in the early days. From the bellboys who welcome you with a smile and “bienvenido a casa” (welcome home) upon arrival and the maid who cleans your villa to the waiter who remembers your favorite cocktail and the Concierge who helps you with day trip and golf reservations, they are all working tirelessly to make your stay a truly magical experience.
To sum up, six resorts, 85,000 member families, 3,000 employees and 34 years of incredible vacation moments and memories to treasure for a lifetime. We would love to hear some of your vacation stories. Why not drop us a line and share them with us. We will publish your anecdotes and photos on this blog.
A big thank you goes out to all Royal Resorts members for joining us on this incredible journey and for letting us take care of you and your families each year. We are honored that you chose to become members of the Royal Resorts Family and we look forward to seeing you again very soon in your home away from home in the Mexican Caribbean.
