A Royal Resorts Christmas & New Year
Mouthwatering festive fare, fun and live entertainment are in store for you at Royal Resorts this Christmas season. Here’s a rundown on dining options at the resorts over Christmas and New Year.
What’s Cookin’ this Christmas?
Traditional Christmas buffets with turkey and all the trimmings will be served on Christmas Day in Tradewinds at The Royal Caribbean, La Veranda at The Royal Sands, Cayo Largo at The Royal Islander and La Palapa at The Royal Cancun-Club Internacional de Cancun. The cost is $330 pesos per person (tax included) plus 15% service charge; half price for children under the age of 11.
Hacienda Sisal and Captain’s Cove are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will be offering their normal a la carte menu.
El Conquistador is open on Christmas Eve with its popular menu of Continental dishes, juicy steaks, seafood and flambées but will be closed on Christmas Day in keeping with its normal Saturday closing schedule.
At The Royal Haciendas in the Riviera Maya La Palapa del Sol will be offering a Christmas Eve buffet with roast turkey, beef, roast ham and pork and a selection of salads, side dishes and desserts, for $302 pesos per person. Normally closed on Saturday evenings, Los Murales will open specially on Christmas Day so that guests can enjoy an evening of fine dining in the company of family and friends.
For guests who would prefer a casual Christmas dinner in their villas, the Royal Express food-to-go counters at The Royal Sands, The Royal Caribbean, The Royal Cancun-Club Internacional de Cancun and The Royal Haciendas will be selling their tasty Yuletide meal packages featuring roast turkey and chocolate log. If you choose this option, remember that The Royal Market has a good selection of wines, champagnes, tequilas and other liquors to accompany your meal, not to mention snacks, chocolates, ice cream and more.

Ring in the New Year
Welcome 2011 in style at Royal Resorts. We have a variety of tempting events lined up for you and whatever you choose, you are sure to enjoy the cuisine, the ambiance and the celebration!
First up is Hacienda Sisal, a very Mexican setting with the romance and hospitality of days gone by. Savor an exquisite five-course dinner, open bar (domestic brands), a glass of sparkling wine for the toast and the traditional 12 grapes for good luck for $139 US per person (tax included) in El Patio, add on 15% service charge. The evening entertainment includes live music, a mariachi serenade and a DJ, and there will even be a big-screen TV so that you can watch the countdown to 2011 broadcast from New York, Mexico City and around the world.
If you choose to dine in Isabella’s or on the Terrace, the cost is $109 US (tax included), add on 15% service charge, and you are welcome to join in the celebrations in El Patio after dinner.
For candlelight, fine cuisine and attentive service, El Conquistador in The Royal Mayan fits the bill. The New Year’s Eve dinner costs $65 US per person (tax included), add on 15% service charge, and includes a four-course menu, a glass of sparkling wine for the midnight toast and live guitar music with Jorge Durán. The restaurant will be closed on New Year’s Day.
How about celebrating the New Year at Captain’s Cove? Join the Captain and his crew on the shores of the lagoon for an evening of starlight, soft music and a sumptuous buffet, followed by dancing at Pancho & Willy’s Bar next door. The New Year package costs $105 US per person (tax included), add on 15% service charge, and covers the buffet, open bar (domestic brands), glass of sparkling wine and grapes, live music, DJ and the big screen TV. Children under the age of 11 pay half price.
If you plan to celebrate without having a sit-down dinner, try the Pancho & Willy’s Party Package for $50 US per person, which includes an open bar (domestic brands), live music and a DJ.
For mouthwatering buffets, music and non-stop fun, try La Veranda at The Royal Sands and the popular beachfront restaurant La Palapa at The Royal Cancun-Club Internacional. The cost is $59 US per person (tax included) plus 15% service charge, half price for children under the age of 11. The package includes the buffet, live music, DJ, grapes and a glass of sparkling wine for the toast. Drinks are not included.

New Year’s Eve Beach Party at The Royal Haciendas
What better place to bid farewell to a decade and welcome 2011 than in the heart of the Riviera Maya, on the beautiful beach at the Royal Haciendas? Enjoy a memorable starlit evening on the soft white sand, with the gentle breeze on your face and the sound of the waves in the background. The cost is $1,500 pesos per person (tax included), plus 15% service charge, and covers a delicious buffet, open bar (domestic brands), a glass of sparkling wine and grapes for the toast, party props, live music from 10 p.m. and a DJ. The cost for children under the age of 12 is $600 pesos per person. In the event of bad weather, the festivities will take place in La Palapa del Sol Restaurant.
Los Murales Restaurant is offering its delectable a la carte menu on New Year’s Eve and will also be open on New Year’s Day so that you can start the year in style with art, music and fine cuisine.
