In January, $121,526 pesos was raised for the Royal Resorts Foundation, $52,805 pesos of which was contributed by the Dollar a Stay campaign. The money collected through generous donations by members, guests and employees is used to support Foundation causes: children’s education, cancer screening, conservation, and employee emergency relief. Also in January, the Royal Resorts Foundation supported a patient who needed radiotherapy and helped an employee cover the funeral expenses of a child who lost his battle with cancer. In February, Royal Resorts Foundation volunteers helped out at a monthly church event for the aged organized by the Comedor Guadalupano para Abuelitos. The guests of honor, old folks from poor districts who are often on their own in Cancún with no family to support them, attend mass, enjoy lunch, music and dancing. Royal Resorts provided lunch and the Foundation will be participating in this event every month.
