Turtle season statistics released on October 1 reveal that our Royal Resorts sea turtle guardians have protected 245 nests and 28,175 eggs at The Royal Sands, The Royal Caribbean and The Royal Islander. Staff and guests have already released 16,078 baby turtles to begin life at sea and thousands more will hatch in the weeks to come.

In news from Puerto Morelos, the 2014 season tally at Grand Residences stands at five nests and 430 hatchlings.

Royal Resorts has been watching over the sea turtles since 1985 and was one of the first companies to participate in the Cancun City Hall conservation campaign. Official record keeping began at the resorts in 1998 and to date we have protected 6,514 nests and released 538,902 baby turtles.
