Quintana Roo Tourism Secretary Laura Fernandez Piña described 2014 as the best year ever for Cancun as in only seven months it has welcomed 3,141,292 million foreign visitors, a 10.2 percent increase on the numbers for the same period last year.
Hotel occupancy rates registered in Cancun and the Riviera Maya have reached 97 percent at times this summer.
