In the July edition of your newsletter we reported that Playa del Carmen-based eco-adventure company Alltournative has a new ATV jungle adventure called nATiVe’s. Here are more details about this trip.

NATiVe’s is a 10-kilometer ATV circuit through a 400-hectare jungle reserve that is a haven for spider monkeys, deer, coatimundi and many bird species. During the ride visitors will see the ruins of ancient buildings that were once part of the ancient Mayan trade ports of Xaman-Ha and Pole and will witness the performance of a timeless ceremony.

Next stop is a cave with impressive stalagmite and stalactite formations where the guide will explain how caves and cenotes are formed in the limestone rock. Then it’s on to a traditional Mayan home and herb garden full of plants with healing properties.

At the end of the trip it’s time for a cooling dip in the Media Luna Cenote.

nATiVes is open from Monday to Friday at the following times: 9, 11, 1 and 3 p.m. and at the weekends at 11 and 1 p.m. It is located at km 285 on Highway 307.
